Seeing how they went out of their way to bring attention to that flower in the ending that foreshadows Silksong, and how Silksong isn't taking place in Hollownest, I think it makes sense we'll get to see it's connection to void at some point on Hornet's journey through the new kingdom. The Delicate Flower is what especially draws my attention here, as the White Lady states it's not from Hollownest. This only becomes more interesting when you give the delicate flower to the Godseeker, where the ending cutscene seems to hint at that flower's importance, having some sort of protection against void. How powerful is the Shade Lord if it's "the god of gods", the very thing the godseekers have been seeking? This also brings up the question what IS void? We see it trying to break free from the Godseeker somehow, even leaking void from her eyes like we've seen on many bugs across the game. There's talk of a lost civilization throughout the game, one that "didn't worship a god, but the darkness itself." Was that referring to the Shade Lord, or not? We see the Godseeker finally meeting the Lord of Shades, or the "God of Gods", or "Void Given Focus." It's obviously an important being, but why? This character is honestly one of the most secretive things in the game. Part of the reason I think this is, well, the ending for Hollow Knight. So, obvious reasons are probably the fact that Hollow Knight has a lot of mysteries that have yet to be solved, but in my opinion, everything having to do with void has the MOST buildup of anything so far, and I think there's a chance that's all going to carry over into Silksong somehow. (At least from what I know!) But I think the game will likely delve more into the lore of void. So, we don't know too much about what lore Silksong will have of course, where the end game will end up going, what directions it might take. But I still have thoughts I'd love to share anyway! Just some thoughts I wanted to put here! Worth noting though, I’ve been avoiding any and all Silksong content aside from the first trailer so I can go into it as blind as I did Hollow Knight. r/demonssouls /r/darksouls /r/darksouls2 /r/darksouls3 /r/bloodborne /r/saltandsanctuary /r/castlevania /r/metroid Ultra-high-resolution Interactive Hallownest Map at with downloads and making-of videos. These sites have cool Hollow Knight content! No update has since been given on a new release date. ![]() In a Tweet, Team Cherry's Marketing Director announced that the game will no longer hit its release window of the 'first half of 2023'. Hollow Knight Silksong delayed out of 'first half of 2023' We'll have to wait and see just how many new bells and whistles are included this time around, but, for now, the action is looking like more Hollow Knight - which is certainly not a bad thing. Generally, if you played Hollow Knight, it seems as though you'll be right at home with the gameplay in Silksong. Boss fights look to be a big part of Silksong, with the gameplay trailer released last year having shown off a couple of the main foes we'll be taking on. It's a Metroidvania game once again, meaning that certain areas are locked behind ability upgrades, with lots of backtracking involved. You'll explore different zones, slowly unlocking the map. So far, we've yet to see too much gameplay for Silksong, but what's been shown looks to be a continuation of the platforming/boss fighting of its predecessor. ![]() Once again, players will be able to find new abilities as they progress, giving them options for customizing Hornet. She is much more agile, able to dart and grapple around the world, with her needle weapon in hand. Players will play as Hornet in Hollow Knight Silksong, who is a pretty stark contrast when compared to the Knight from the first game.
